About

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog “Professor Stealth Wealth”! I created this page because SO many people don’t know anything about personal finance or investing. To prove my point, here is a list of American’s shortcomings:

  • According to a survey from Bankrate, over half of Americans can’t cover a 1,000 emergency expense.
  • According to the Federal Reserve, Americans owe over 4 trillion dollars in credit card debt.
  • And according to GoBankingRate’s survey, 55% of Americans have less than 10,000 dollars set aside for retirement.

Now, these are a lot of facts and figures, but they all point to one thing: Americans don’t know how to manage their money well. I am not blaming any single individual for this lack of knowledge.

I will, however, make one statement that could explain the reasoning by this phenomenon:

American schools do not teach personal finance as heavily as they do other subjects.

(PBS Two Cents actually did a great video on the topic. Click here for the link.)

I certainly didn’t know much about personal finances growing up and every school system I’ve ever been through, from elementary through college, didn’t teach me. I did massive amounts of personal research, from flipping through investing books to scrolling through financial literacy websites, in order to get to the solid foundation I am today.

And it is due to this that I want to help people simply don’t know, but are willing to learn. It is perfectly fine if you don’t know anything about personal finance, investing, credit cards, the stock market.

 There is no judgement here.

So if you wanted to learn more about all of these topics or you just want to brush up on the basics, welcome.

I will be the instructor.

And class is in session.
